Marks and Spencer Management Trainees

Applications for the Marks and Spencer’s  2013 Management Trainee Programme are open until June 7th 2013.

It is open to people living in Ireland.
During the 18-month training scheme, you’ll branch out from your base location with a series of short-term roles in stores around the region. You’ll need to be driven and flexible; grabbing hold of the learning opportunities on offer, tackling different shifts and going wherever the role takes you. That way, you’ll soon be ready to step into the role of Commercial Manager – coaching and motivating your own team of Section Managers.

The M&S programme is a  way for you to get the range of retail expertise you need to develop a long and successful career . Through a combination of on-the-job learning, real-life project work, and development activities, you’ll get to know retail management inside out – all while receiving the best reward package on the high street.

The Trainee Management programme is open to anyone whose highest qualification is two A-levels or equivalent.

The Selection process involves several stages, each designed to carefully sift through a vast number of applicants fairly and appropriately. First you have to go through an anonymous online questionnaire – then you will be  be invited to complete the application form.
You will be required to provide  all your personal details, qualifications and experiences. On submission of this you may then be asked to complete a series of online tests, which are timed.

Job Vacancies at NAMA

NAMA Ireland – the National Asset Management Agency is part of the   National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA)

NAMA was established in 2009 as a key part of Ireland’s response to its banking and property crisis. NAMA acquired commercial and residential property loans with a nominal value of over €74bn from five financial institutions. In purchasing these loans, NAMA issued senior and subordinated debt of close to €32bn and is tasked with managing the assets to obtain the best financial return for the State.  To date, NAMA has generated over €31bn in cash flows, has advanced development funding of over €1.3bn for its Irish assets, is profitable and, critically, is confident that our work will be completed by the 2020 completion date that was originally envisaged to repay its debt on behalf of the Irish state.
There always seems to be job vacancies at NAMA  as their work grows or staff leave .  Job adverts at NAMA don’t usually show salaries – but in the Dail it was revealed that 12 of the 227 NAMA staff have packages worth more than €200,000 per year  and 106 have pay deals worth between €100k and €200k.

Intreo.ie New Jobseekers Service

Intreo is the name for a new agency to support Jobseekers in Ireland. The name seems to come from the fact that it is supposed to be an INTegRated One Stop Shop for Jobseekers.   Or it could be to do with the Irish for “Direction”  – which is “Treo” .
The general idea is that instead of registering for welfare payments with one agency and then registering at another agency for help with getting jobs or training – now it is all carried out by the same agency. FAS will no longer be involved .

Interestingly  – Google thinks  that searchers for Intreo.ie are probably looking for a dating site Intro.ie  ! S so they will probably see business booming over the next few months.
Intreo.com seems to be linkd to a US based building automation company.

INTREO was officially launched on  15th October 2012 and is being called a “integrated employment and support service”
It is part of the  Department of Social Protection and aims to  provides individualised supports to jobseekers to assist them in getting back to work and increasing their employability.

Some of the actions will include

• Activation measures including client profiling, and one-to-one meetings focused on customised employment supports and monitoring of client’s progress.

• Integrated reception providing a one-stop shop incorporating all strands of the Department’s employment and income support services.

• A ‘social contract’ between the service and its clients.

The Intreo service is  only  available in Sligo, Arklow, Tallaght and Kings Inn/Parnell Street. Other areas in which the service will become available before the end of the year, include Ballymun, Buncrana, Dundalk, Coolock, Finglas and Killarney. The Intreo service will be rolled out to all areas of the country by the end of 2014.
The site www.intreo.ie is not yet active – and it redirects users to http://www.welfare.ie/EN/Intreo/Pages/index.aspx
